TRANSPORT and Communication Minister Brian Mushimba insists that the Patriotic Front (PF) leadership of President Edgar Chagwa Lungu loves the poor.
Mushimba, a PF Kankoyo Member of Parliament bragged that no political party can compare with President Lungu’s ‘large as a water melon love’ of a poor Zambian.
The youthful Mushimba says the PF Government will continue being a pro-poor government , building on the political legacy of its founder, ‘King Cobra Michael Chilufya Sata.
” The PF is and shall remain a pro-poor party,” said Mushimba on CBC Television’s ‘On Record’ anchored by Francis Mwamba Kope.
Further, Mushimba says over 1200 towers will be laid to improve mobile, land line and access to data.
Mushimba says competition will result in cheaper but quality facilities.
When pushed to the corner as a preferred network, Mushimba refused to be dragged into such an argument as a regulator.
Citing 12, 000 subscribers in Zambia, Mushimba says market analysis indicates a desire to limit competition.
Mushimba says Zambia Information Communication Technology Agency (ZICTA) has sufficient and capable manpower.
