Zambian DNA Spokesman Spuki Mulemwa has come very strong against some media outlets and political pundits critical to President Lungu’s rule who are painting the image of the country black.
Mulemwa has since advised the media to report accurately about President Lungu’s proclamation of a Threatened State of Emergency to avoid unnecessary innuendos and misrepresentation of facts that Zambia is sliding into a dictatorship.
President Lungu’s Proclamation of Threatened State of Emergency has been received with mixed reactions, with many stakeholders and political pundits saying the country is back to Stone Age.
But Mulemwa says the invoking of article 31 is not State of Emergency.
He said article 30 and 31 are totally different, saying no innocent Zambian can be harassed during the 90 days period.
He said the media should report correctly that what the President has done is strengthening capacity to the law enforcement agencies because of sporadic gutting public places.
” I am very disappointed with the opposition and some media outlets which are misleading the people that Zambia is already under State of Emergency,” Mulemwa, a legenday Zambian musician cum politician regretted.
