Patriotic Front( PF) Secretary General Davies Mwila has mocked Law Association of Zambia(LAZ) president Linda Kasonde that it is about time she started going to Church.
Bad blood between the Patriotic Front and Kasonde has persisted since the last elections.
Kasonde has been critical against the PF administration, prompting the ruling party to label her a United Party for National Development(UPND) sympathizer.
The ruling party-led by Lusaka Lawyer Kelvin Fube Bwalya made a failed attempt to impeach Kasonde on accusation of professional misconduct.
Rivalry between Kasonde and the PF establishment was renewed recently when the former held a press briefing criticizing President Edgar Lungu’s threatened State of Emergency.
The LAZ Chief questioned the motive behind President Lungu's invocation of article 31 when the investigations have not yet been concluded.
But in response, President Lungu told Kasonde to form her own political party.
“Where are lawyers in this country. If lawyers want to form a political party then let them form a political party instead of of abusing the profession because what they are talking is politics,” President Lungu said.
And during the induction ceremony of Mandevu Member of Parliament(MP) Jean Kapata as party National Women’s League Chairperson, Mwila added his voice, saying Kasonde should reform and turn to God.
He said Kasonde is showing the rest of the world that she is an enemy of peace.
“Ba Linda Kasonde baleyako na ku Church baishibako Lesa,” said Mwila literally translated as( Linda Kasonde should start going to Church to know God).
