We spent a memorable four years in Zambia 1984-88 with fond memories of two prominent Zambians in current news, former President Kaunda, with whom Ken was frequently in contact as the number two and at times acting ambassador of the American embassy, and Gabriel Ellison, who gave Yvonne art lessons and conveyed her vast love and knowledge of the country. And we also have many warm memories of friendships with Zambians, and with other diplomats who joined with us in creating the American Embassy School in Lusaka.
