Testifying before the Matero local court, Anna Phiri said that her husband Ridon Muntanga, 30, also of the same township told her that they would only be meeting only once a year.
“We have never had sex since November 2016, he told me that we will only be having sex once every year. I feel it is a challenge for me because it does not befit the purpose he married me, in the first place,” she said.
Phiri told the court that she has tried by all means to entice him to have him sleep with her but that she has not succeeded.
Facts before the court are that the two got married in 2008 and have two children together. K200 bride price was paid, out of the initial K850 which was charged.
Phiri also narrated before the court that Muntanga always threatens to kill her whenever they have a misunderstanding.
In her submission, Phiri told the court that she is not ready to go back to her matrimonial home as she is scared of losing her life.
In his defence, Muntanga denied the allegations and accused Phiri of being the one denying him conjugal rights.
