THE treason case involving Opposition United Party for National Development (UPND) leader Hakainde Hichilema (HH) and 5 other people has been adjourned to Wednesday, May, 24th, 2017.
Source, understands that the case failed to take of this morning because Lusaka Magistrate David Simusamba who was presiding over the matter has been taken ill.
The matter had come up for Judgment to determine whether the matter should be referred to the High Court as per committal certificate issued by the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) to refer the treason case to the High Court.
The matter was this morning allocated to Lusaka Magistrate Betty Malupenga.
Mr. Hakainde Hichilema and his five co-accused appeared briefly before Magistrate Malupenga..
Magistrate Malipenga has since adjourned the matter to Wednesday, May, 24th, 2017.
Mr. Hichilema and his five co-accused have been remanded in police custody.
