Zambia Police Officer Dies In Presidential Motorcade

A Zambian police officer yesterday died on the spot and others are  currently admitted at Serenje district hospital nursing serious wounds after a road traffic accident which involved  a presidential motorcade on way  back to Lusaka after a presidential Northern Province tour. Police say one of the vehicles for the presidential motorcade overturned after a tyre burst.  President Lungu wasn’t in the motorcade as he flew back to Lusaka

The fact is that Presidential motorcades are not of this time. Presidential motorcades are a sign of pride for dictators which makes them feel superior and contribute to the myth of dictatorship. The unnecessary speedings pose a danger to poor school children and unweary animals. During the rein of Chiluba, at one time a lot of law enforcements got killed and left unattended do. Those gentlemen in power must realize that roads in Zambia are still not regulated, underdeveloped and filled up with old and new cars. There are many ways of trasporting themselves, instead of continuing endagering other peoples lives. They can transport themselves on bicycles or scooters like many leaders do in europe.
