TIRED of being ridiculed by his wife of 20 years that he is too weak for her and that she craves for a real man who can satisfy her in bed, the husband has filed for divorce against her.
Paul Bwalya of Mansa sued Theresa Bwalya for divorce on grounds that she always complains that he is not man enough to satisfy her insatiable sexual appetite.
Paul told the court that his wife has been using the same reason to flirt with different men despite her marital status.
He said he is tired of living with a woman who sleeps with other men and he wants to divorce her so that she could continue with her promiscuity.
The two got married in 1997 and have five children together.
Paul, who paid dowry as per tradition, told the court that all was well when he married his wife until she started looking down on him.
He said her behaviour worsened and that she could ridicule him for allegedly failing to meet her expectations in bed.
Paul narrated that Theresa could brag about her behaviour of sleeping around with other men and that she went home late at night.
His efforts to plead with her to behave like a married woman failed as she hurl insults at him whenever he rebuked her conduct.
The court heard that one day, Bwalya’s wife returned home around 22:00 hours and started bragging about the sexual encounter she had with her lover.
Paul said he was tired of Theresa’s insults and promiscuous behaviour.
He said he could not even remember the last time she shaved his private part.
Paul begged the court to grant them divorce before one of them died for the sake of their children.
But Theresa pleaded with the court not to dissolve their marriage as she still loves her husband.
She said if divorce is granted, the children might suffer and become street kids.
Theresa said she only drinks beer with her friends but her husband accuses her of sleeping with other men each time she goes home late.
Magistrate Margaret Sankalimba adjourned the case for judgment.
