A Lusaka woman narrated before a Local Court that she wanted to divorce her husband because he makes love to neighbours as well as children.
Miriam Mwale, 30, of John Laing compound was testifying in a case in which her husband, Abraham Kapandula, 32, sued her for divorce on allegation that she left the matrimonial home on February 2, without his consent.
The two got married in 2008 and have four children.
Kapandula told Senior Court Magistrate Abbyshine Michelo sitting with Magistrates Lewis Mumba and Esther Mulomba at Kanyama Local Court that problems started in 2015 after he secured a job for Mwale as a maid while he worked as a garden boy.
Kapandula informed the court that his wife fell in love with the son of her employer who was HIV positive, adding that after two months, she also got infected.
He explained that the son of her boss told him about their affair when he took Mwale to her work place that she was just a neighbour.
In defence, Mwale said that she also wanted divorce because Kapandula was making love to neighbours including children and that he was not providing for the family but spent money on prostitutes.
She explained that Kapandula was jealous of her because everywhere she found a job, he became suspicious and accused her of having affairs.
Magistrate Michelo said that the two could no longer live together because of suspicions and had been on separation for over a year.
He granted the couple divorce without compensation but Kapandula was ordered to be paying child maintenance fee of K500 per month.
