Lusaka Mom Nabbed Over Death Of Her Baby

POLICE in Lusaka  are holding a woman aged a 23 of Lilanda suspected of  suffocating her baby to death after she slept on him whilst drunk

Police deputy spokesperson Rae Hamoonga clarified  that the case  took place on Sunday, 5th June.

“We have detained Elizabeth Banda, aged 23 years old, after we received a report from her mother, Mary Phiri of Lilanda Township, to the effect that she had slept over her three month old baby who later died,” Mr. Hamoonga said.

He said that the body of the baby was lying  University Teaching Hospital Mortuary awaiting an autopsy.
