Tragedy: 22 People Killed After Wada Chovu Bus Collide With Another Bus(Photos)

22 people have been killed in a traffic collision involving a Wada chovu bus and a Benz Minibus. And police  have revealed that the driver of the Wada Chovu was at fault as he failed to keep to his lane in the process hit into the minibus which was coming from the opposite direction, killing all the passangers who were in the minibus including the driver who died on the spot.

Police spokesperson Charity Munganga-Chanda in a statement stated the accident involving wanda chovu bus happened today between Luashimba and Manyumbi around 09 hrs.

She added that the Scania Marcopollo bus Reg No AJB 6340 was coming from the Copperbelt to Lusaka while the Benz Minibus Reg No ACZ 4829 was coming from Kabwe.

“The driver of the Marcopollo failed to keep to his lane in the process hit into the minibus which was coming from the opposite direction. All the passangers who were in the minibus including the driver died on the spot. We are still waiting for the number of the injured,”Mrs. Munganga-Chanda stated.

She stated that the bodies are lying in Kabwe hospital mortuary awaiting identification and postmortem.

“The driver of the Wanda Chova bus is among the injured and is admitted to Kabwe general hospital,”Mrs. Munganga-Chanda stated.

    Its very sad, wada chovu bus drivers are always overspeeding, we do not know whether they have been given targets in which to reach the destinations or not. Even older wada chovu drivers drive like young boys-overspeeding is the order the day with these buses. even a short distance they cruise like they are going very far please let their directors caution them, it has been too much.
